I have been teaching English for 23 years, and 15 of those have been at Northglenn High School where I teach freshman and AP Literature. I am also a nationally endorsed English trainer for the National Math and Science Initiative based out of Dallas, Texas. Though my calling was to teach English and literature to high school students, I am Science Fiction and Fantasy geek at heart, though the BBC's Sherlock is running a close second (as though you couldn't tell by the theme of this website). During the summer of 2015, I traveled to England where I spent a month in London studying Shakespeare at The Globe Theatre. It was a life-changing event!
When I'm not teaching English, I'm spending time with my husband, Randy, and our beloved dog Scarlet. I am an avid computer gamer -- yes, I play MMORPGs when I can find the time -- and I love to cook and knit and watch my Colorado Rockies, even when they're losing. I also write creative fiction, but time is usually working against me, so I don't have as much time to devote to it as I would like. It's an odd collection of hobbies, but they suit me quite nicely. "Quirky" is only one adjective to describe my personality. :)
